Alongside my work as a teacher in a state school, I have always explored innovative aspects of the teaching and dissemination of musical practice. In certain school contexts I have performed in a variety of concert clinics; and together with a team of musicians, artists and actors I have created and produced a number of didactic projects specifically for primary schools. For many years I was also flute teacher at the “Laboratorio Arte Musica e Spettacolo” academy of Verona.
I have always greatly enjoyed composing works for schools: these have included some songs for a choral anthology, the Antologia corale per la scuola dell’obbligo (published by the Federazione Cori del Trentino, 1999) and particularly the arrangement of Stravinsky’s “Tilim-bom”, from the Four Russian Folk Songs, for voice and Orff instruments, published in the journal La Cartellina in 1998, together with an essay on instrument activities in schools, Musica d’insieme a scuola (Ensemble work in schools).
As a music teacher at the Italian School of Madrid, I coordinated and directed the Choir of the Italian School with which I participated in various official events and, together with other teams of European schools, since 2013, in the concert events of the «European Day» , which are celebrated every year in the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid. I therefore worked to form the Orchestra of the Italian School, joining the forces of the many students, who knew how to play an instrument, participating in various public and official events; the formation was that of a classical chamber orchestra – with a repertoire that included authors such as Saint-Saens, Boccherini, Beethoven, Morricone – but also of ‘mixed’ ensembles with pop-rock repertoires (Radiohead, Cranberries)..
